When someone dumps angry words at you

Do you have a relative who dumps (or throws them up) a whole slew of terrible, hurtful words at you when she’s so angry she cannot talk to you in a decent manner? I do.

She was angry with a hearing aid; then it turned into a chair problem, and then how at least she didn’t abandon the children. Perhaps she should not have had them in the first place. Yup, that’s how the argument goes.

The difference is that I listen to her with a massive shield in front of me now and I can feel those hurtful words bouncing off me.
