It’s good when it’s new
Peggy was sipping on her Tetley on the breakfast counter as she always does the first thing each morning. This day she as waiting for me to finish making the omelet. She mentioned how nice and blue it looked outside and that there doesn’t look to be any breeze. These are things she usually says along with asking me what day it is. It’s her ritual in the morning.
I was chopping the green pepper, onions and mushrooms with the new gourmet Japanese knife Dave bought me for my birthday. It worked very well. It’s hard to describe, but it’s one serious-looking kitchen knife. “It cuts beautifully.” I said.
Mom was sitting next to Peggy and said, “Japanese knives work well at first.” meaning they won’t work well later. As in the “twins” work better.
